Weekly Emails From Robyn: Stop being a sh*tty  boss to yourself!

You are an amazing therapist and are beyond skilled at helping your clients heal… but nowhere in your clinical training were you taught how to run your practice like a business and right now you are struggling to balance it all. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Not knowing how to be a good boss to yourself is causing problems for you…

You feel jealous of other therapists

You feel overextended and maxed out

Bending over backwards to accommodate your clients is all too common for you

People pleasing behaviors inform your decision making in your practice

You don’t have a clue how to run your practice like a business

Client cancelations and taking sick and vacation days give you anxiety

I say this with love, but you are being a shitty boss to yourself. You would never work for someone who had these demanding and unreasonable expectations. Who wants a workplace with a culture of overworking, over-scheduling, underpaying and with no vacation or sick days?

And here is how you wish you could run your practice

  • Vintage alarm clock with Roman numerals on a white background.

What if you could set up some systems and boundaries in your practice that would give you more time, freedom and financial security?

  • Person holding a fan of hundred-dollar bills, wearing jeans.

Can you imagine setting your ideal fee and communicating it with ease to your clients?

  • Person leaning out car window on a mountain road, with hand and hair flowing in the wind.

You want to be able to handle unexpected cancellations, and take sick and vacation days WITHOUT anxiety.

  • Person in winter clothing giving thumbs up on a cobblestone alley with brick buildings.

You are ready to set your ideal schedule, that is nourishing and sustainable.

  • Two people holding hands at a wooden table with two cups of coffee.

You desperately want to be able to say yes to what matters most to YOU!

I have created a new content series where you will receive weekly emails to help you explore how you are  getting in your own way of being the best boss to yourself.

You have not been taught (yet!) how to think of and run your practice like a business, and I will help you put some simple systems in place to build the practice that you want and deserve.

We will look at how to make decisions in your practice that reflect your values and priorities. Let’s explore feelings of shame and guilt around earning money as a therapist. We can talk about potential people pleasing behaviors that make it hard to set boundaries around scheduling. We will learn how to have conversations about. money and many other honest and vulnerable conversations about the struggles of being a therapist and a business owner.

Hey, I am Robyn. I am a former overextended, people pleasing therapist.  When I  had taken the leap into private practice and it was so exciting because FINALLY I was my own boss, I was able to  set my own hours and make more money.

Unfortunately, I burnt out REALLY quickly,  because a lot of my decisions were based on “not wanting to upset my clients” instead of making decisions that were in my best interest. Since then I have made effective changes and feel much better about my work life balance.

I have taken what has worked for me and have been able to help many therapists just like you. I have found that overextended therapists need empathy, support and guidance in setting up systems in their practices. As a result of our work together they have been able to gain more time, freedom and financial security in their practices and lives.
