What if you can create practice that ensures you have time, freedom and financial security you crave?
Hey there-listen up for just a sec…
You are smart. Successful. You’ve built this practice from the ground up.
You’ve helped more clients than you can count and most days you feel amazing about the work you do and the practice you’ve built.
But then it happens… you look in the mirror and see a frazzled reflection looking back at you. One that has scheduled another evening appointment even though you swore you’d never take an 8PM again. One that doesn’t understand why it feels you aren’t making enough money. One that agonizes over taking time off because you worry your clients may be upset.
You’re starting to wonder if you can even be a therapist for the next 20 years. This is the start of burnout my friend.
I help therapists just like you put simple and effective systems in place to help you take control of your practice and ensure that you have the time, freedom and financial stability that you deeply want and need.
Allow me to introduce myself…
I’m Robyn, a former people pleasing, overextended therapist who has taken my practice and my life back. When I’ve been caught up in the hustle of all of my clinical roles, I felt so maxed out and emotionally drained that I wasn’t leaving enough time for my other important roles as a mom, a wife, a friend and even just me.
I’ve been a therapist, a supervisor, and even a professor at Rutgers School of Social Work. And now…
I am YOUR coach to help you burnout proof your practice.
Why am I the coach for you?
💗 Because you are starting to question, why did I even go into private practice? You can’t imagine keeping up at this pace for the next 10 years. You know that complaining to friends and family is not a strategy and you have to make some changes (like yesterday) or you will burnout.
💗Because you know people pleasing and overly accommodating your clients is hurting you. I ‘m going to help you burnout proof your practice, while saving you time, experiencing far less stress and finding the joy of your practice again. I am like your bestie who can love on you and also call you to the table and hold you accountable.
💗 Because I want you, my friend, to be in this field for a long time. With burnout rates as high as 45% (possibly even higher post pandemic), you need to learn some systems to make sure you are paying yourself a salary where you can live (and enjoy life), give yourself vacation time and schedule your clients in a way that feels nourishing and sustainable. I’ve made the mistakes and learned from them so you don’t have to!
As an endurance athlete you register for marathons and triathlons. You know that the miles will be grueling and harsh. You signed up for that. Keeping up your pace is how you reach your goals. If you started your practice thinking like a marathon runner,… you also probably bonked (a runners term for burnt out or crashed) quickly. I designed TCYP to help you pace yourself and set up systems to make running YOUR practice easier and more enjoyable.
Why is TCYP so special. You are as unique as your spotify playlist and so is this program. This is not a one sized fits all program that just checks the boxes. I help you to make decisions about your practice that are aligned with YOUR goals, values and priorities.
I’ve been through the wringer and agony of trying to run my practice with out systems to keep me in check. I’ve cried on my supervisors floor because I was so burnt out out and couldn’t imagine another day of doing therapy. Although I had a great network and supervisor, I realized that complaining about my unsteady income and over scheduling did nothing. And if nothing changed, then nothing would change.
I had to do some deep work to look at how trauma was impacting my business. It turns out my people pleasing behaviors (a tool I once believed I needed for connection) was no longer serving me. In fact trying to please everyone was actually hurting me and my bottom line. I was on vacation taking emergency calls, I was scheduling in hours that didn’t work for me, and I was charging a rate(that was too low) based on arbitrary factors. I couldn’t believe I was doing these things… prior to private practice I believed I had solid boundaries. It was then that I knew I needed to make some changes and make them fast and started building Take Control of Your Practice.
